American International College is a private, co-educational institution located in the geographic center of Springfield, Massachusetts. The College offers undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education. American International College is dedicated to learning. Our mission is to provide a quality, transforming education to a diverse body of undergraduate and graduate students for life long leadership and success in a global environment. The student body of the College is drawn principally from the northeast region of the United States, however, students do, as throughout the College's 119 year history, attend from other states and from countries throughout the world. It is our fundamental philosophic conviction that the primary function of our College is to promote a learning centered process in which our students are engaged; that the curriculum should be designed to serve that function; and that all other activities, including the co-curricular and athletic programs, should be consistent with that primary function.

Twenty-five buildings in the neo-Georgian tradition on fifty-eight treed and landscaped acres in the midst of an urban environment, including the Schwartz Campus Center, the Karen Sprague Cultural Arts Center with the Esther B. Griswold Theatre for the Performing Arts, the Falconer Health and Fitness Center and the Metcalf Gymnasium. American International is in the geographic center of Springfield, Massachusetts, a city of 160,000 in the historic Connecticut River Valley. There are five schools headed by deans that comprise Academic Affairs which is headed by a Vice President: Arts & Sciences; business Administration; Health Sciences; Psychology & Education; and Continuing Education and Graduate Studies. There are 1,200 full-time undergraduate students; 600 graduate and part-time students. The student to faculty ratio for undergraduates is 12:1. Academic programs in more than three dozen liberal arts and sciences and career-related fields, including, but not limited to, the Humanities, the Social Sciences, the Physical Sciences, Accounting, business Administration,criminal justice, Hospitality, nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Sports Management, and Teacher Education. Personal Computers (PCs) are available for student use at the Computer Center, the Shea Library, and in the microcomputer labs. Academic buildings and residential halls are "wireless" for easy access to the Internet. Students who live on campus may choose from traditional three single-sex or two coeducational residence halls, or a resident hall of suites.
