Founded in 1902, Barton College is on 56 sprawling acres in Wilson, N.C. Students who attend Barton College may choose between five academic schools and roughly 40 major areas of study. The five academic schools consist of arts and sciences, behavioral sciences, nursing, business and education. Each program offers an array of majors and minors to choose from and surely a first-rate, in-classroom education. Students are attracted to Barton College's small class sizes; with nearly 80 full-time faculty members, students can assured that they are more than just a number. But to really excel in your area of study you need more than lectures and readings from textbooks. At Barton College, professors engage students in real-life experiences and hands-on learning.

Getting involved at Barton College is made easy through its extensive extracurricular activities. Students can choose between athletics, clubs and organizations. The campus activities board alone plans more than 30 activities each weekend, including family weekend and concerts. Or one may choose to participate in a Greek organization, choir, community service organization or the student government. Then there are the sport enthusiasts, Barton College has a booming, well-rounded athletics organization. Known as the Barton Bulldogs, the athletics department features varsity sports for both men and women. Baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis and golf are just some of the varsity sports teams that engage students each year at this North Carolina school.
