Viewed as a vehicle of virtue, the athletic department at Belmont Abbey College is home to a number of varsity sports teams that win on and off the playing field. Proudly sporting the colors red and while, the Crusaders were founded in 1876 are part of the NCAA Division II and the Conference Carolinas. Crusader varsity sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, wrestling, softball and volleyball.
