Institute of Technology is a technical school founded in 1908 through provisions of Ben Franklin's will. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the academic program at BFIT prepares students for a technical career by combining textbook theory with hands-on experience.
Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology offers associate degree programs in
health care, industrial technologies, and
engineering technologies. Students can also earn a Bachelor of Science in
automotive Technology, and certificate programs are offered in HVAC, Marine Technology, Pharmacy Technology, and Practical Electricity. Through a partnership with
Northeastern University, BFIT students in the engineering technology programs can transfer their credits toward earning a bachelor's degree in engineering.
Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is an NCAA Division III school with men's teams competing in basketball and soccer. Students can also participate in a variety of intramural sports, student government, the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, and the annual Engineering Technology Olympics.
