Bennett College for women is an institution of higher learning that fosters to the needs to females on the undergraduate and graduate course levels. The foundation for the college began in 1873 when the first class was instructed from the basement of Warnersville Episcopal Methodist Church. By 1926 Bennett College had been declared a women's college with help from the Women's Home Missionary Society.

Today, Bennett College is still flourishing on a 55-acre campus in Greensboro, N.C. The Greensboro area offers students an array of cultural, social and entertaining activities to take part in off of the campus' grounds.

Academics at Bennett College follow the saying "Educating for Success in a Changing World: From Good to Great." This banner and mantra is visible for those who visit the North Carolina school's Web page. Students are awarded high academic enrichment along with leadership, research and public service opportunities. Within 16 degree programs at Bennett College, students are offered a variety of majors and minors to study in order to complete their undergraduate and/or graduate programs. A bachelor's of arts, bachelor's of science, bachelor's of Social Work and a doctorate of chiropractic degree are just some of the degrees women may choose to pursue at Bennett College.

Learning resources coincide with the educational programs at Bennett College. Here, students are welcome to seek additional information or help from the Center for Teaching, Learning and technology, whose major goal is to offer strength-based services and initiatives to those students who seek out its support, and the Holgate Library. The Thomas F. Holgate Library offers a number of educational programs and supporting services that are aimed at fostering the students' minds and their achievement and commitment to higher education. At the North Carolina college's library, students and faculty will find a number of collections, a circulation service, an online reference source, professional databases and an interlibrary loan program. With these tools in place, Bennett College is sure to stimulate one's mind and promote his/her success both on campus and beyond.
