As the first coed College in Virginia, Bridgewater has a strong history of academic excellence for more than a century. This College in Virginia offers more than 40 majors and concentrations leading to Bachelor's degrees and pre-professional certificates. It is closely affiliated with Church of the Brethren, and has a strong community of faith-based students and faculty. Unique to Bridgewater College is its duel degree programs, which allows students to obtain a degree in conjunction with a participating college or university. Students majoring in engineering, forestry, nursing, physical therapy, and veterinary sciences can take advantage of the program, which is offered in conjunction with George Washington University, Virginia Tech, Duke, Vanderbilt, and Shenandoah Universities.
