With a small student body, Carleton College is a home away from home type of higher education institution that is focused on providing quality education to its more than 1,500 students. Among its more than 30 undergraduate majors leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree are African/American studies, geology, linguistics, Greek, French, and studio art, among others. Additionally, this College in Minnesota also offers specific courses that can be taken as electives in a wide range of areas including Arabic, Hebrew, physical education, and Judaic studies.

Carleton College also offers a unique set of degree programs through partnerships with several universities in the geographical area. The program combines three years of study at Carleton, and an additional two to three years at the partnering university, graduating students with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton, and a graduate degree from the partnering institution. The program, designed for students wishing to study engineering, nursing, and law, optimizes academic credits and courses, not to mention time. Carleton also offers a teaching certificate program for the state of Minnesota for grades 5-12 in various subjects, as well as language certification for grades K-12. Students can also works toward certificate degrees in languages including French, Russian, German, and Spanish, among others.

Because Carleton College believes in providing a range of experiences to its students, this College in Minnesota founded a center exclusively dedicated to community service and volunteer coordination. According to the center, Carleton College students log in almost 5,000 hours of volunteer work and community service each academic term. That's pretty impressive!
