Opened in 1971, Cascade Campus is one of
Portland Community College's three campuses and offers a number of unique programs offered nowhere else at PCC, such as Medical Laboratory Technology, Professional Music, Fire Science, and Trades and Industry. As a focal point in the community, Cascade serves local residents with job training, college transfer and self-improvement courses. As one of Portland
community college's campuses, Cascade also offers traditional college programs such as two-year professional-technical degrees and continuing education classes as well as community education, adult basic skills, and pre-college programs for
high school students. As part of Portland
Community College, programs at Cascade Campus are accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
Located in the revitalized North Portland area, Cascade Campus offers students a centralized location with historical ties to the community and the many cultures represented in its surrounding areas. Cascade hosts annual festivities and activities such as the Cascade Festival of African Films, Cascade's self-guided walking art tour that is anchored by its new Art Gallery, opened in 2006, and the North/Northeast Skill Center which offers direct entry pre-apprenticeship programs for people of all ages certified by the state of Oregon.
As part of Portland
Community College, the campus offers more than 100 academic programs in courses ranging from traditional offerings such as
business Administration and Criminal Justice to more specialized fields like Culinary Assistant training and Peace & Conflict Studies. Classes are offered on a quarter semesters; fall, winter, spring and summer. Classes are offered days, evenings or weekends.

The campus once occupied the grounds of what was Cascade College, a four-year Christian school established in the early 1900s.
Approximately $60 million of capital investments helped renovate and expand several of the campuses existing facilities for the twenty-first century including the Student Center which holds the Cascade Library, cafeteria, student club and government offices.
