The College of Alameda is designed to serve all of the people of northern Alameda County and has done an excellent job of meeting their diverse needs for nearly 40 years. A comprehensive
community college, the College of Alameda is committed to offering vocational, occupational, and
liberal arts courses to help all learners reach their personal and professional goals.
The beautiful College of Alameda 62-acre campus is easily accessible to all students by foot, auto, or public transportation. The
COA buildings and facilities surround a central courtyard, creating an effective learning environment and supporting the interaction between the students, faculty, staff, and their surroundings. And for students in the College of Alameda
Aviation Maintenance programs, classes are located on a 2.5 acre site on Harbor Bay Parkway, adjacent to Oakland International Airport's North Field.
Student success remains the top priority at the College of Alameda. Various degrees and certificates can be earned through numerous programs which offer classes during the day, the evening, and on the weekend on campus. Distance education classes are available for COA students as well. Small class sizes allow students to benefit from personalized attention and closer contact with both instructors and fellow students. Student support is found outside the classroom at the College of Alameda, too. All COA students have access to personal, academic, and vocational counseling services. Financial aid assistance, tutoring, health services, job placement and other services are available at the College of Alameda also.
