The Community Colleges of Spokane is a conglomeration of two Spokane-based community colleges and the Institute for Extended Learning. The system is open to students in high school and above and provides both degree and diploma programs to a wide array of learners. The Community Colleges of Spokane seeks to provide educational options to the entire Spokane Community. The school maintains dual enrollment articulation agreements with more than thirty area high schools and provides students with transfer support and advising in conjunction with several local four-year institutions. Over 100 degree and certificate programs are available on campus, giving students an enormous field of subjects available at their fingertips. Students may take courses during the day, evening, or remotely through the school's online learning program. For the non-student population, the Community Colleges of Spokane also offer non-credited personal enrichment courses, youth summer camps, Cosmetology services, adult basic education workshops, sports camps, worker retraining programs, and welfare to employment programs.

All three branches of the Community Colleges of Spokane provide a lively and active campus environment. Each year the campuses host social and cultural events for students including on campus barbecues, volunteer opportunities, student performances, visiting lectures, and visual art presentations. Student athletes will have their choice of nine varsity sports teams and all students are welcome to join the campus-wide intramural sports program. Each campus also supports its own selection of student-run publications and organizations. On Spokane Community College campus also supports a full-scale student-run restaurant that features the work of the school's Culinary Arts students.

For the surrounding community, the Community Colleges of Spokane provides small business support services ranging from computer skills workshops to job transition seminars. Recently the Spokane Community College campus opened a brand new Center for Entrepreneurship. Here aspiring business leaders will have access to a nine-month management-intensive curriculum designed to transform students from followers to leaders.
