A four-year institution of higher learning in California, Concordia University Irvine provides students with a liberal arts education in the Lutheran tradition. When the school was founded in the mid-1970s, it occupied one building and served only 36 students. Today, however, Concordia University Irvine is home to residence halls, dining facilities, classrooms, and even a performing arts center.

In spite of its growth, this California university has class sizes that average less than 25 students. It has also added a regional center to compliment its main campus in Irvine. Located in Temecula, the Temecula Regional Center offers bachelor's degree programs, master's degree programs, and a teacher credential program that are aimed at adult learners. The CU Accelerate program provides adult learners with another option but letting busy students complete a bachelor's degree in 16 months by completing courses online and only attending class on campus one weekend a month.
