Lutherans in Wisconsin founded Concordia College in 1881. Now a full-fledged university, Concordia seeks to develop mature Christian students by sharing the teachings of Jesus Christ in all educational programs. Concordia University Wisconsin is accredited by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the Commission on Collegiate nursing Education, the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, the American Bar Association, the American Accreditation Counselor for Occupational Therapy Education, Commission on Accreditation in P.T. Education (APTA), and the Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

Concordia has an undergraduate enrollment of more than 1,600 students. The student-faculty ratio is approximatey 14 to one, and the average undergraduate class size is under 20.
