Continental Academie of Hair Design offers Cosmetology and Nail Technology in preparation for state licensing at its two locations in Hudson and Manchester, New Hampshire. Continental Academie has been voted #1 for hands-on, interactive, self-empowering education.

Continental Academie of Hair Design provides training modules in advanced techniques and extensive education for students pursuing future careers in cosmetology and nail technology fields. Students learn basic and advanced hair coloring and highlight techniques as well as corrective methods, product marketing and retailing techniques, salon computerization, design and control curl, salon business management for future salon managers and owners, haircutting for style, makeup artistry for all occasions, European facial technique, spa manicure and pedicure, and nail technology.

  • Continental Academie of Hair Design students practice their techniques in public clinics, offering services at low student prices under instructor supervision. This clinic is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Hudson campus location has Thursday evening hours from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.


  • Continental Academie of Hair Design uses professional products such as Aveda, Back to Basics, Paul Mitchell, Wella, Matrix, Redken, Nioxin, OPI, Backscratcher, Creative Nail, Super Nail, and ISO.


  • Continental Academie is accredited by the National Commission of cosmetology Arts and Sciences.


  • Continental Academie of Hair Design has six starting dates for enrollment each year in January, March, May, July, September, and November.


  • Students must have their high school diploma or GED by the time of enrollment in addition to a completed application form, four passport photos, and copies of driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, and immigration documents, if applicable.


  • Financial assistance is available for Continental Academie students who qualify.


  • Continental Academie of Hair Design graduates have excelled as cosmetologists, operators, hairdressers, hairstylists, hair color technicians, permanent wave technicians, scalp and hair specialists, skin care specialists, makeup artists, manicurists, nail technicians, salon managers, salon supervisors, salon owners, education directors, and guest artists at seminars and beauty shows.


  • In today's job market, there is a high demand for cosmetologists. The Labor Department estimates that the demand for full-time and part-time cosmetologist will continue to increase through the year 2010.


  • Continental Academie of Hair Design's Artist Director, Alida Weergang, studied in England, France, Spain, and Germany. She was part of the USA Hairstyling Team for a world championship in Stuttgart, Germany, and she was awarded the highest award for hairstyling, Rose d'or de Paris, at the Festival of Paris. The Director of Education, Suzanne Prince, is distinguished for creating the first skin care technical brochure and instructional slide program for the National Cosmetologists Association.
