Located in Missouri, Cottey College is a two-year independent
liberal arts and sciences college for women, founded more than 100 years ago. About 40 years after its creation, Cottey College was given to the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic education organization that operates the school to this day.
Throughout the years, Cottey College has remained true to its purpose of providing women with the education and opportunities they need to succeed in their lives and careers. Academic programs at the
women's college cover everything from art, journalism, dance, theater/speech, and music, to computer science, education,
business and economics, chemistry, and mathematics. Each member of the
community college's faculty has attained a master's degree, and 60 percent of the faculty has achieved a doctorate in their field of study. Cottey College currently boasts an average class size of 14, and a student-faculty ratio of nine to one.
In addition to an education, this women's college offers students the chance to travel abroad to a European city during their second year of schooling. In the past two years, Cottey College students have traveled to London and Paris.
