Cowley County community college is both a Community College and vocational/technical institution. With more than 68 majors and degree programs, students at Cowley County Community College are prepared to transfer to a four-year program or enter into the workforce with a two-year job-ready degree.

In 2007, Cowley County Community College celebrated 85 years of innovation and excellence. From the college's humble beginnings in 1922 in the basement of Arkansas City high school to its modern day classrooms in a cutting-edge institution, Cowley County Community College has always been one of pride and courage, taking risks that have allowed for success. Even with the extra room, as it is no longer referred to as the Basement College, Cowley County Community College still keeps class sizes low with an average of eighteen students per class. This keeps the focus on students and allows for more interaction between student and instructor.

As for campus life, Cowley County Community College offers four dormitories, an athletic program, and a variety of clubs and organizations to match a wide variety of interests.
