Cutting Edge Hairstyling Academy has been training hairstylists for more than 50 years. The facility at this award winning accredited academy has spacious work stations, a library with Internet access, and private facial and skin care rooms.

Cutting Edge Hairstyling Academy programs are divided into four segments with the opportunity for advanced training in hair color, salon business, and ultimate stylist. The training is personalized and allows students to go through the program at their own pace. The courses of study can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis.

Those wishing to attend the Cutting Edge Hairstyling Academy must be 16 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or GED, set up an appointment to visit the campus, select a schedule, and complete the enrollment paperwork.

Financial assistance is available through Pell grants, direct loans and Parent Plus loans as well as other sources of financing. Other financial aid options include Sallie Mae Career Loans, VA, and vocational rehab.

Studying and being licensed in Cosmetology leads to careers as glamour stylist, entrepreneur, trend setter, instructor, and salon owner.

Cutting Edge Hairstyling Academy has campuses in Shawnee and Kansas City, Arkansas.

Cutting Edge students also have the opportunity to improve or build their portfolios, with a professional photographer available for current students and graduates. Student work is also displayed throughout the campus and on the Web site.
