De Anza automotive Technology College allows students to further their careers in automotive technology. De Anza enrolls approximately 400 students a week, the program is NATEF certified, and the faculty is ASE certified. The college has a variety of programs to advance or begin an exciting career in the automotive industry.

De Anza offers introductory program and support courses on the basics of automotive technology as well as entry level programs in engine performance, chassis, powertrain, engine repair, and automotive machining. Students can also take inspection and maintenance courses. De Anza Automotive Technology College offers in-services programs for technicians and apprentices that meet apprenticeship requirements and lead to certificates of proficiency and Associate Degrees in engine performance, inspection and maintenance (smog), powertrain, engine repair, and chassis. An option for high school students interested in careers in automotive technology is De Anza's North County Occupational Program (ROP), which prepares students for entry-level employment or entry into De Anza's full-time automotive technology program.

Courses are semester long with 180 hours of study.


  • De Anza students enrolled in morning classes are required to furnish their own hand tools. Students are given a list of tools they will need and can purchase them through the college at special student pricing. Tools cost approximately $3,500.
