Dine
college has grown out of the Navajos' long history of dedication to
education for their people. For over 50 years, the Navajos have allocated a relatively large proportion of their efforts and resources to improving educational opportunities for their tribal members. Dine
college was born from their commitment.
As the first college established by Native Americans for Native Americans, Dine College set a precedent for later tribally controlled community colleges on or near reservations. Today, Dine College remains the oldest and largest community college in this tradition. Dine College has its main campus in Tsaile,
Arizona, along with five community campus locations in Window Rock, Chinle, Ganado, Kayenta and Tuba City to serve Arizona residents. Additionally, Dine College has a campus in Shiprock and a community campus in Crownpoint that provide educational services to New Mexico residents. At Dine College it's all about meeting the needs of students, wherever and whatever they happen to be.
The Tsaile Campus of Dine College reflects the strength and dignity of the rich Navajo culture. All facilities on this main campus of Dine College are accurately placed in reverence to traditional Navajo beliefs, resulting in an environment for traditional growth and academic success. At this
Arizona college, students learn about Navajo history, culture, government, philosophy, and policies in addition to being taught how to speak, read, and write Navajo. With small class sizes and caring, accessible instructors, students are able to find a sense of community and experience success at Dine College. Students looking for a rich, meaningful academic and cultural experience, look to Dine College.
