Don Duncan, the founder of Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design, has decades of experience in the beauty industry, having founded his own chain of salons in 1974. Since his first school was established in Oklahoma City, enrollment has continued to grow, and a second campus in opened in Edmond, Okla. In 2006. The goal of Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design is to produce talented, professional hair dressers who are ready for employment at leading salons and spas. The school's facilities include state-of-the-art equipment and tools so that students are familiar with the latest Hairstyling trends and techniques. Classes are taught by trained and experienced professionals, many of whom are salon owners, school owners or salon managers. Instructors at Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design have trained with well-known educators and at schools such as Toni & Guy, Vidal Sassoon, Loreal, Matrix, Paul Mitchell and others. The school collaborates with Toni & Guy Salons and Academies on educating both instructors and students. All instructors at Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design are also required to participate in continuing education activities.

Classes at Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design begin every month, and students can opt for a full-time or part-time program. Full-time Duncan Brothers students can graduate in nine months, while part-time students will finish their studies in 18 months. Training is intensive and hands-on, with the cutting floor preparing students for future jobs by recreating a salon atmosphere.
