East Los Angeles College was established in 1945 and was first located on the Garfield
high school campus. East Los Angeles College is one of the nine public community colleges and
California schools located within the
Los Angeles Community College District. The main campus and a satellite center located in South Gate serve many surrounding communities, including Alhambra, East Los Angeles, Huntington Park, Montebello, and more.
East Los Angeles College offers a variety of academic and career programs designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year university or begin working in the real world directly upon graduation. During the past decade, this
