Founded in 1893 as a school for teachers, East Stroudsburg University is part of the Pennsylvania State system of higher education. Today, ESU offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the liberal arts and sciences.

At the undergraduate level, East Stroudsburg University awards degrees in the Bachelor of Arts, the bachelor of science, and the bachelor of science in nursing, a teaching certificates. Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of education, Master of Public Health, and Doctor of Education degrees are awarded at the graduate level.

Located in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains, East Stroudsburg University provides the convenience of big school facilities while maintaining the friendly atmosphere and personal attention of a small college.
