Founded in 1911, East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, is a four-year, comprehensive university. ETSU offers more than 200 undergraduate, graduate, and medical programs of study.

Undergraduates at ETSU can earn bachelor's or associate's degrees. The ETSU School of Graduate Studies awards certificates and degrees in dozens of master's-level and doctoral programs.

The James H. Quillen College of Medicine, part of the ETSU Division of Health Sciences, which includes the College of nursing and College of Public and Allied Health, awards the Doctor of Medicine, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

The beautiful mountains and streams of northeast Tennessee provide opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, camping, kayaking, and skiing. The beach is only a day's drive away. The area also offers a rich diversity of culture, arts, dining, entertainment, and festivals.
