Elements of Wellness School of Massage, founded in 1994 by Lucinda Sohn, is for students aspiring to be licensed massage therapists or practitioners of energy and somatic healing. The
massage therapy school is dedicated to helping its students achieve their goals and to create a supportive environment.
Elements of Wellness School of Massage's
massage therapy education program can be taken as a full- or part-time program that prepares students for the field of
massage therapy. In an eight-week period, students complete 200 hours of study and 800 or 1,000 program hours. Students enjoy small class sizes that promote one-on-one communication with instructors, who are enthusiastic and qualified and have a broad knowledge of
massage therapy. Once students complete Elements of Wellness School of Massage's massage therapy education program, they are eligible to sit for Missouri licensure. Once students complete the advanced course work, which includes specialization in spa massage, rehabilitation massage, Asian
bodywork and energy modalities, students are granted the MTE advanced certificate of completion. At this stage, students are eligible to sit for the National Certification Board for
Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworks National Certification Examination.
Because learning is a continual process, Elements of Wellness School of Massage also offers continuing education. Students and community members can enroll in a number of classes. Programs are opened until filled and each program has a different set of objectives and techniques. Workshops and additional classes are also offered to the public at Elements of Wellness School of Massage.
