Emmaus Bible College is 4-year institution of higher learning. This Dubuque, Iowa, school exists first and foremost to educate students in biblical studies. Everyone majors in Bible, and most students choose a second major related to their vocational goals, such as teaching or computers.

In addition to its 4-year bachelor's degrees, Emmaus Bible College also offers an associate degree and a one-year Certificate in Biblical Studies.

The academic programs at Emmaus Bible college are organized into three curricular areas. Core Studies, which include Biblical Studies and General Education, are required of each Emmaus student. Ministry Studies are offered as a major, minor, or elective coursework in areas of study such as Music Ministry, Biblical Counseling, and more. Professional Studies are also offered as a major, minor, or elective coursework and include Elementary Education, nursing, and Computer Information Systems, among others.

Emmaus Bible College is associated with the Plymouth Brethren, a non-denominational, loose fellowship of like-minded evangelical churches. Approximately 60 percent of Emmaus students are from the Plymouth Brethren assemblies; 40 percent are from other evangelical churches.

Emmaus Bible College is nationally accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). Emmaus is a candidate with the Higher Learning Commission and an affiliate of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Emmaus Bible College is also approved by the Iowa State Department Education to offer programs leading to teacher licensure in elementary education.

  • Full-time Emmaus Bible College students participate in the Christian Service program to observe and participate in a specialized Christian ministry and receive college credit.
