Since 1985, the Eugene Lang College, a four-year undergraduate division of
The New School, has been dedicated to providing students with a curriculum set on social justice, political responsibility and cultural awareness. Positioned in the center of Manhattan, N.Y., the college was founded by philanthropist Eugene Lang and has molded students into individuals who are fostering positive changes in the world.
At Eugene Lang College students are given the opportunity to grow and expand their minds in a number of different faculties. Majors and interdisciplinary programs include arts, culture and media, economics,
education studies, environmental studies, history, interdisciplinary science,
liberal arts, philosophy, psychology, religious studies, social inquiry and urban studies. Students may also complement their primary academic curriculum with additional programs including civic engagement, gender studies,
Jewish studies, and race and ethnicity.
But in-class learning isn't the only captivating force at Eugene Lang College. Students are engaged through internships,
study abroad programs and community service. In the heart of one of the largest, well-known cities in the world, Eugene Lang College students are able to find their niche within companies such as MTV and Random House. Students are also given the opportunity to work with non-profit and charitable organizations around the city and within inner city communities.
