The European Institute for massage therapy, established by Erika Lichter in 1986, is a massage therapy school based in Texas that focuses on massage therapy and holistic healing. The school is able to provide two campuses as well as teachings in both English and Spanish.

Students may become certified after completing the advanced bodywork program at the European Institute for Massage Therapy. The six-month program and its curriculum is certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Students at the European Institute for Massage Therapy need to complete a maximum of 253 clock hours to obtain their certification. Clock hours are divided among a number of areas of study. Students spend 48 hours studying advanced anatomy, 40 hours in advanced pathology, eight hours with heated stone massage, more than 60 hours learning integrated holistic massage, under 10 hours with chair massage, 12 hours in aromatherapy and bodywork, 12 hours of pregnancy massage, 14 hours of documentation, charting and postural assessment, 24 hours in Eastern world bodyworks and techniques, eight hours in CPR/ First Aid, and 16 hours in business and ethics.
