Fashion Institute of Technology
7th Avenue at 27 Street
New York City, NY 10001-5992
Founded in 1944, the Fashion
Institute of Technology is -- as its founder Mortimer C. Ritter might say -- "an MIT for the fashion industries." Although it is a public four-year institution of higher education, the Fashion Institute of Technology is unique in its devotion to the arts and fashion. While traditional schools draw the line at graphic arts, this
New York College covers such artistically inspired areas as marketing, advertising, merchandising, technology, fashion, and production.
The Fashion Institute of Technology is also flexible in the programs it offers. Operating with a 2 + 2 system, students first enter the school in two-year
associate degree programs and then later may opt to complete an additional two years in order to earn a bachelor's degree. Master's degrees are also available in select majors at this
New York College.
Quick Facts:
