With a mission to prepare students for placement in the world of Cosmetology, the Faust Institute of cosmetology offers programs in both cosmetology and nail care. Established by Ann Smith in 1980 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the Faust Institution of cosmetology has grown in size and now has locations in Storm Lake, Iowa and Spirit Lake, Iowa. The dual-location approach offers students the opportunity to learn at the location that is most convenient.

The Faust Institute of Cosmetology's "open-door policy," as its Web site calls it, openly welcomes students makes them feel at home. The cosmetology program at the Faust Institute of Cosmetology educates students with a multidisciplinary approach including instruction and hands-on experience in skin care, nail care, fashion, hair techniques and business strategies. In the Faust Institute of Cosmetology's nail technician program, students learn the tools and techniques needed to become successful nail technicians. The Nail Technology course is based on hands-on experience, allowing students to provide manicures, pedicures, artificial nail treatments, nail art, and waxing. Faust's students are supervised by licensed professionals while providing client services and the client service program allows students to receive first-hand experience before entering the workforce.
