At First Nations University of Canada students earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in environment of Indian culture and history. There are various communities across Saskatchewan and Canada, as well as its three campuses: Prince Albert (Northern Campus), Regina and Saskatoon. Students learn and live by the philosophy that all beings are interconnected in the Great Circle of Life.
First Nations University teaches wisdom, respect, humility, sharing, harmony, beauty, strength and spirituality, making study not only about academic
education but a spiritual journey. First Nations' Elders teach respect for the beliefs and values of all nations and work in equal partnership with those nations.
Students learn in the context of their own traditions, languages and values, taking advantage of the University's resources and working toward the enrichment of their communities. The institution has the largest concentration of Aboriginal faculty in one institution in the world.
The First Nations community of faculty and students have been instrumental in developing an awareness of the socio-political and cultural context of Indigenous peoples on a global scale.

The range of programs and services are offered on three campuses in Saskatchewan: Regina (Main Campus), Saskatoon and Prince Albert (Northern Campus).
The university has a center for international academic exchange, with relationships with universities in mainland China, Taiwan and Australia for the exchange of Indigenous students and scholars. Students also have access to classes offered by the University of Regina, and its two other federated colleges, Campion and Luther.
The university has an enrollment of around 700 full-time undergraduates.
