The Flint School of
Therapeutic Massage is dedicated to providing instruction to students seeking careers in alternative
health care. At Flint, students engage in classroom and hands-on learning experiences to prepare them to become certified message therapists. With a flexible class schedule, the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage is committed to providing working adults an easy way to continue their education or take up a new area of interest.
Students who enroll in the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage may choose to study within the following areas:
SPA procedures program, massage therapist I, advanced/medical massage, and
massage therapy instructor training. Students who enroll in the massage therapist I program will become familiar with Swedish massage, polarity, reflexology, INIT, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, sports massage, muscle energy techniques, seated massage, pre-natal and infant massage, basic Shiatsu, and
business and ethics. Those students who wish to study within the spa procedures program must first complete the massage therapist I program. The advanced/medical massage program at the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage offers training in orthopedic assessment and massage, myofascial osseous integration techniques, pharmacology, pathology and medical terminology. The
massage therapy instructor-training program is a compilation of a number of different core curriculum studies. The 80-week program includes 500 clock hours.
Once students at the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage complete all the appropriate course work and hours required for certification, they will be able to seek employment within the health and fitness industries. Students may choose to become employees at hospitals, clinics, health clubs, aerobic studios or open their own businesses.

The Flint School of Therapeutic Massage works closely with community members and has begun a program with the Saginaw Spirit Hockey team in which students give the team players sports massages under the director of a trained professional.
The Flint School of Therapeutic Massage also offers enrollment in standard workshops and personal enrichment classes.
To make learning more convenient and accessible, the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage offers two locations: one in Flint and another in Saginaw.
