Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Florida, is one of the oldest academic centers in Florida. The university is a four-year, private, coeducational institution that grants baccalaureate and graduate degrees. A Historically Black College founded by the Baptist church, Florida Memorial University now serves a culturally diverse student population through programs in liberal and technical education.
