The Florida State University Film School is located in Tallahassee, Florida, and is made up of an
elite group of students and professionals who are dedicated to the film, television and recording arts. The selective enrollment allows for one-on-one communication and instruction in an effort to advance students to a career in
filmmaking.
Students who have the honor of attending Florida State University College of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts will have the opportunity to work with some of the highest technical equipment in the industry. Students at the Florida State University Film School become familiar with Super-16 and 35 mm production equipment, which also includes grip and camera trucks. Some of the school's advanced facilities include post-production studios, visual effects lab, soundstages, mix theaters and Dailies Screening Theater, which is used to view a day's work during a production cycle. And to a student's advantage, the facilities at Florida State University Film School are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Students at the Florida State University Film School may choose to study at undergraduate or graduate levels. Students may choose to receive a Bachelor of
fine arts in production, a Master of Fine Arts in production, a Master of Fine Arts in writing for the stage and screen, or obtain a minor in film studies. Students admitted for the bachelor's program in the fall will first attend Florida State University to complete all of their
liberal arts requirements. By keeping the number of total admitted students to a minimum, professors at Florida State University Film School can devote a respectable amount of time to each student and each student's works. Florida State University College of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts has been recently recognized by the Director's Guild of America for its contribution to American Culture.

Students are only granted admittance during the fall semester at Florida State University College of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts.
Each fall approximately 30 students are admitted into the Bachelor of Fine Arts in production program and only 24 students are admitted into the Master of Fine Arts in production program.
Six students are admitted each year into the Master of Fine Arts in writing for the stage and screen.
The Florida State University Film School has won a total of six student Oscars from the Academy of Motion Picture.
