Founded in 1990 by Randy Stein, Florida Vedic College was originally known as the College Division of the Institute for Gaudiya Vaishnavism, Inc. Today, Florida Vedic College continues to carry out its original traditions as a non-profit religious institution and is currently a vital part of the world-wide Hindu religious tradition.

Students may choose from bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree progams at Florida Vedic College. Within the college are five main areas of learning: arts and sciences, architecture, Ayurveda, astrology and Sanskrit. Students will find learning very accessible at Florida Vedic College as it offers distance learning for many of its courses and plans on expanding the areas it teaches online in the future. The Florida Vedic College Alternative Learning Division is also available to support students in search of a degree program that suits their current obligations and schedule.

The school welcomes students from across the globe and has degree programs in alliance with other institutions in other countries. Florida Vedic College has recently partnered with the the Vedic Academy in Germany, European academy for Vedic Sciences in Croatia, and Centro Studi Bhaktivedanta in Italy.
