The Center for Advanced Technologies was established in 1993 with help from the National Science Foundation. The Center for Advanced Technologies is focused on providing students hands-on and theory-based learning through industry and university partnerships. The center awards students associate and bachelor's degrees in
engineering and technology.
Students pursuing an
associate degree can study manufacturing engineering through
Lawrence Technological University. Students pursuing a bachelor's degree study manufacturing engineering through the
University of Detroit Mercy or engineering technology through
Wayne State University. Students at also earn an income while studying in their respective disciplines. Students on the Focus: HOPE campus work with employers through internships, make a salary, and do not pay for course work. Students at the Center for Advanced Technologies often take careers within the
automotive industry but are also eligible for careers within the medical field and other up and coming technical areas.
Quick Facts
To enroll at the Center for Advanced Technologies, students must complete the Machinist Training Institute or pass a series of tests that measure math, communication, and technical and computer literacy skills.
Personal interviews are required for admission into the Center for Advanced Technologies.

Industry partners of the Center for Advanced Technologies include Chrysler, Detroit Diesel, Data Systems, Ford Motor, General Motors, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
