Located in Western rural Kansas, Fort Hays State University is a four-year institution of higher learning devoted to the liberal arts and sciences as well as a number of specialized fields. Although boasting only 34 students and 19 courses when it first opened its doors in 1902, today Fort Hays State University serves about 8,000 students and is comprised of four different schools: The College of Arts and Sciences, College of business and Leadership, College of education and technology, and College of Health and Life Sciences.

Thanks to these specialized schools, this Kansas university is able to offer students the chance to study in a number of difference fields. From classes in accounting, agriculture, advertising, beef cattle management, botany, and computer science, to courses in economics, English, forensic science, history, public relations, and sociology, there's something for nearly anyone at Fort Hays State University. Students may choose to pursue a certificate, Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Science degree.
