The offers students full and part-time programming in basic and advanced
massage therapy programs. Students complete their 500 hours of
massage therapy training under the instruction of four faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. All
massage therapy programs total 500 hours as required by the Texas Department of Health to become registered as a massage therapist.
The full-time day program totals 450 classroom hours and a 50-hour internship program. The full-time schedule runs 19 weeks and includes classes Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. The internship program runs from four to six weeks. Two different part-time options are available at the Fort Worth School of Massage. Students may enroll in the Saturday class schedule, which lasts 12 to 14 months. The second part-time option is a night class program that runs Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. and will take approximately 12 to 14 months to complete. The 12 to 14 month program also includes a 50-hour internship. Both part-time schedules may be helpful for those who wish to continue to work as they complete their training or need a longer period of time to pay off their education.
A break-down of the 500 training hours a student will complete at the Fort Worth
school of massage therapy are as follows: 200 hours of massage technique; 20 hours of health, hygiene and CPR; 125 hours of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology; 40 hours of pathology; 20 hours of hydrotherapy; 45 hours of
business practice and professional ethics; and 50 hours of internship experience.
