In 1947 the Tennessee Radio Service School opened its doors in Knoxville, Tennessee to educate students to become professionals in the radio and television industries. In 2003, the school changed its name to Fountainhead College of technology to reflect its growth and continued dedication to providing men and women a head-start career in the technology industry. Fountainhead offers two associate and one bachelor degree as well as a certificate program.

The Associate of Occupational Science degree offers tracks in health information management and health information technology. Fountainhead's Associate of Applied Science degree offers day and evening courses in electronic technology. The Bachelor of Applied Science degree features a well-rounded curriculum with classes on network security and forensics. The bachelor's degree program prepares students for entry-level work within the areas of securing intranets, Web sites and networks from hackers. The certificate program offered at Fountainhead College of Technology is designed for students who already hold a degree but wish to receive additional training in the fields of medical coding and medical record management.
