Established as a training school for nursing in Philadelphia in 1904, Frankford Hospital School of Nursing has grown into a thriving co-educational school of nursing that has educated more than 2,500 students to date. Students at the Frankford School of Nursing may pursue an RN or BSN degree.

Students who are seeking admittance to the Frankford School of Nursing directly out of their senior year of high school should have their completed application turned in by February 1st of the preceding semester. Components of the application include, but are not limited to, an SAT score of 1200 (minimal of 400 on the verbal portion), recommendation letters, an application and an application fee. Students at Frankford study an array of science, liberal arts, humanities and elective courses throughout their curriculum. Students get involved in clinical work within their second year, allowing them to receive a unique hands-on experience that will fully prepare them for their careers in the field of nursing. Clinical work at the Frankford Hospital School of Nursing continues until students meet all degree requirements.

Since the early 1970s the Frankford Hospital School of Nursing has been affiliated with Pennsylvania State University, allowing students to take college course work needed to obtain an RN diploma at the School of Nursing. Students have the opportunity to obtain an associate degree in Letters, Arts and Sciences with their RN by taking a few additional courses. Credits are transferable towards the BSN degree, which is available through Frankford's affiliations with Thomas Jefferson University and Penn State World Campus.
