Founded in 1968, Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennesee, is a private, residential, primarily undergraduate institution affiliated with the Churches of Christ. FHU also offers a limited number of master's-level graduate programs.

Freed-Hardeman provides a liberal arts education for all students through its general education and general degree requirements. Courses are offered by twelve academic departments organized into six schools--Arts and humanities, Biblical Studies, business, Education, Sciences and Mathematics, and the Honors College.

Undergraduate degrees include Associate of Applied Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of business Administration, and Bachelor of Social Work. Graduate degrees are Master of Arts in New Testament, Master of Ministry, Master of Divinity, Master of Science in Counseling, Master of business Administration, Master of Education, and Education Specialist.

Freed-Hardeman University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's and master's degrees.
