Massachusetts School offers training programs for the maintenance and construction industry, as well as CONTREN craft training.
The mission statement for the school is to provide students with high-quality training that prepares individuals for gainful employment and long-term opportunities in the construction industry. Students can take a variety of courses, from learning how to become a crew leader to exploring fiber optics. For example, during a crew leader class, a student learns how to effectively supervise, problem solve, and make cost-effective decisions. There's also a variety of classes in
engineering, supervisor training, and plan reading.
The George W. Gould Construction Institute has many programs for students to get involved with to further their construction career. There's a career development program that offers students a variety of construction programs for students. License preparation programs are designed to help students prepare for specific licenses. Some of these courses include an ASME code review course and a 15-hour
electrical license renewal.
Companies and employees can take advantage of apprenticeships offered at the school. Some of these programs include air conditioning, carpentry, glazing, insulation, laborer, masonry, painting, pipefitting, and sheet metal. There are several cities throughout Massachusetts where programs are held, including, Andover, Stoneham, Middleton, Holyoke, and Easthampton.
The George W. Gould Construction Institute is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of
education Division of Occupational Education. The school is approved by the following, the National Bureau of Apprenticeship Training, Board of Massachusetts Electrical Examiners, Department of Public Safety, and the Board of State of Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters.
