Gill-Tech Academy of Hair Design

230 S. McCarthy Road
Appleton, WI 54914

A leader in the Midwest for Cosmetology since 1984, Gill-Tech Academy of Hair Design graduates students who are ready to dive into the industry. The staff at this Wisconsin School has more than 200 years of experience in the industry and wants to teach students how to be leaders in the cosmetology industry.

Gill-Tech Academy of Hair Design opened its new facility in 2007, which features a clinic floor, pedicure area, café, multiple facial rooms, and windows for natural lights. It was created because the founders wanted to provide a modern alternative to standard cosmetology and barbering education. Schools in Wisconsin have to follow the state's requirements for an education in cosmetology, but the Gill-Tech Academy of Hair Design wants students to have additional knowledge that will give them the edge of their competitors in the market.

Students can learn how to be cosmetologists, aestheticians, nail technicians, or managers. Teachers use the Milady teaching program, along with the Nuts and Bolts Pro Grow personal program. Gill-Tech Academy of Hair Design prepares students on how to deal with clients, communication skills, and technical work. The curriculum is based on theoretical instruction, but enhanced with hands-on training for students.

The theory potion is taught in the classroom. Then, students will practice on mannequins, student subjects, and models. After this is completed, students are ready to apply what they've learned on the clinic floor. Students are educated with top quality products, including Dermalogica, Goldwell, Matrix, OPI, Paul Mitchell, and Big Sexy Hair.

Classes are kept at a small level, so that students receive personal attention. After graduation, a diploma will be given to the students that will allow them to become a licensed aesthetician in Wisconsin when the state board tests have been completed. Tuition includes books, tools, and supplies.

It is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of cosmetology Arts & Sciences. It is also certified by the Department of Education to offer federal student aid in grants and loans. It is also a member of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools.
