Founded in 1872 as a teacher's college, Glenville State College in West Virginia remains a leader in preparing teachers and has developed additional programs in a variety of areas, offering bachelor's degrees, Associate Degrees, and minors.

GSU offers more than 40 degree programs across several academic departments, including business, education, English, fine arts, Land Resources, Science and Mathematics, and Social Science.

The town of Glenville is located in the middle of West Virginia. Known affectionately as the Lighthouse on the Hill, the Glenville State campus is nestled deep within the Appalachian hills and surrounded by towering trees and rich foliage.

Glenville state college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
