Hagerstown Community College

was Maryland's first community college (formerly known as Hagerstown Junior College). Hagerstown Community College initially opened its doors with the intent of changing the lives of its students for the better and its commitment to this cause is as strong as ever. Hagerstown is dedicated to meeting the personal and professional needs of its diverse student body. In doing so, Hagerstown Community College offers associate degrees, certificate programs, diplomas, and continuing education opportunities. Programs of study include Behavioral and Social Science/business, English and Humanities, Mathematics and Science, nursing and Health Science, and Technology and Computer Studies.

Hagerstown Community College believes that extra curricular activities play an integral role in a student's educational experience. That's why several clubs and organizations are on campus and available for students to join. Groups on campus include everything from Arts & Design Club to International Studies to Science Club and more. The Hawk Student Newspaper and Student Government are two other organizations in which students can apply their knowledge and skills as they develop their leadership abilities and make new friends at the same time. Students at HCC are encouraged to get involved and stay involved!

Student services are also available for Hagerstown Community College students to meet their many needs. Tutoring support is provided for students who need assistance in their academic studies. And the Job Training Student Resources (JTSR) department provides support services to low-income adult students taking classes at HCC in career programs.
