Halifax community college is a two-year institution based in Weldon, North Carolina that provides in-class and distance learning options to students. Halifax students have their choice of five different types of associate degree programs (Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Fine Arts, Associate in Applied Science, and Associate in General Education) as well as 20 professional certificate programs. Students looking to transfer will have a wealth of academic options at their fingertips. Halifax Community College maintains close ties with neighboring four-year institutions, most recently Eastern Carolina Christian college, giving students the ability to transfer without falling behind in credits.

In addition to degree and diploma options, the school also offers non-credited continuing education courses and basic skills classes. Additional services provided by Halifax Community College include customized training courses for local businesses, a small business center designed to help local entrepreneurs expand their companies, workforce readiness development classes for local employees, and industrial training seminars. The North Carolina college also hosts summer camps for children and teens.

To help students make it through their program of study, the Learning Assistance Center provides assessment testing and supplemental software to help students study. Additional support services provided to Halifax Community College students include academic advising, tutoring, personal counseling, financial aid counseling, transfer assistance, and support services for disabled students. The North Carolina college also provides on campus childcare facilities and a math lab. Halifax Community College also supports a wide array of student clubs and organizations including a student government association, a campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society for two-year college students, and a chapter of Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success. Each year the campus plays host to a job fair, an event that gives up-and-coming grads the opportunity to meet and greet their future employers.
