Founded in 1775, Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, is the 10th oldest college in the nation. This selective, private, four-year, independent, liberal arts college for men is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.

Hampden-Sydney College is located in the heart of Virginia, about 60 miles southwest of Richmond. H-SC is surrounded by more than a dozen other colleges and universities including four Women's colleges. Hampden-Sydney College students have all of the advantages of the single-sex classroom environment as well as the co-ed nature of the weekend social scene.

Hampden-Sydney College's 1240-acre campus is located in the middle of Southside Virginia, home to some of the best turkey and deer hunting on the east coast. Fishermen will enjoy the three small lakes stocked with bass and other assorted game fish. Students who seek a larger challenge will discover amazing hunting and fishing options in the area around campus. Student hunters are permitted to keep bows, rifles, and shotguns in the campus gun locker.
