The Harvard University Division of Continuing Education is comprised of the Harvard Extension School and Harvard Summer School. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the division offers open-enrollment courses and academic programs in a wide array of subjects. Students can study for credit or noncredit, on campus or online.

As one of the 12 degree-granting schools at the University, The Harvard Extension Program offers associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. In addition to degree and certificate programs, the Extension School offers a program for those preparing for careers in health care. With over 620 courses representing more than 65 fields, the Extension Program is designed for flexibility. Students can attend part-time in the evening at Harvard Square or choose from over 120 online courses. Extension School bachelor's and master's degree recipients participate in Harvard's celebrated commencement.

The Harvard University Division of Continuing Education offers Harvard Summer School. Students can earn credit toward degrees or simply explore intellectual interests. The rigorous courses are open admission and do not require an application, transcripts, or letters of recommendation. Harvard Summer School courses span the liberal arts spectrum. The School offers four- and eight-week sessions; classes meet during the day, the evening or online. Harvard Summer School also offers programs for high school students, study abroad programs, and English language courses.
