At Hawaii
community college you'll find an array of career, technical,
liberal arts, and non-credited courses designed to fit your educational needs. Offering particularly strong degree and diploma programs of study in the fields of Construction Technology and Transportation and Applied Technology, Hawaii
Community College is a great place to start your journey towards a better, higher paying job. On the liberal arts side, Hawaii
Community College also offers a strong transfer program to students seeking entry into a four-year institution. The school's Hawaiian Life Styles associate degree is one of the few of its kind in the country. Backed by the Ua Lako Mokuhulu Summer Bridge Program, a four week distance education program aimed at providing rural Native Hawaiian communities with higher educational opportunities, the school's Hawaiian studies program preserves and supports the islands' native populations and physical environment.
Students may opt to live in on-campus dorms or off-campus. Thanks to intercollegiate partnerships, Hawaii Community College students can also complete their degree from home. As a member of the
University of Hawaii Community College system, HCC students can take online courses offered through any of the seven partner campuses.
When classes let out, Hawaii Community College students take advantage of the numerous individual and team sports offer on-campus. The school-wide intramurals program features an extensive selection of sports games ranging from typical basketball, soccer, volleyball fare to purely recreational games like horseshoe throwing and cribbage. The Student Activities Council presents a variety of cultural, educational, and recreational programs throughout the year.
Hawaii Community College students fare well after they graduate. All students have access to free on-campus career counseling prior to graduation and the school's Job Placement Office helps students find post-college employment. Students will also have access to personal counseling, academic advising, on-campus computer labs, on-campus writing labs, tutoring, and placement testing while they're enrolled.
