massage therapy training programs in Integrative
medical Massage, HISM is the only Department of
education-approved program on the Big Island.
The Integrative Medical Massage program offers a unique approach to body work and is offered in no other single curriculum. Upon complete of the program, the therapist is educated and trained in the artistic and scientific principles of using one's physical, mental, and spiritual abilities to assess tissue tension in muscles, fascia, ligaments and joints, and to apply a corrective techniques.
The Hawaiian Islands School of Massage provides a 615-hour licensing program, a 1,045-hour diploma program, and a 1,475-hour honors program, as well as a part-time licensure program and a Japanese Language program.
HISM is licensed by the State Department of Education the Hawaii DCCA, Board of Massage.
Quick Facts:
Enrollees must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be 18 years old and in good health.
Full- and part-time programs are offered with three enrollments throughout the year.

With approval from the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization, the Hawaiian Islands School of Massage can sponsor students from outside the U.S. for one year.
The Hawaiian Islands School of Massage is geared to the Hawaii license, but nearly all states honor its transcripts for their licensing requirements.
Students may take any combination of classes; a full curriculum is not mandatory.
HISM graduates have a 100% passing rate on the Hawaii State Board Exam.
