Haywood community college is committed to providing academic excellence to its students. Haywood Community College offers the following associate degrees: Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Applied Science (AAS), Associate in Fine Arts (AFA), Associate in Science (AS), and Associate in General Education (AGE). Upon completion of their degrees, students can enter the workforce in their chosen professions or transfer to a four-year university to pursue their baccalaureate degrees. Through the Alliance Program students may also choose to stay at Haywood Community College and complete three years of their college coursework in various majors, spending their final academic year at a university.

In addition to the numerous degree options available, Haywood Community College offers certificate programs, diploma programs, continuing education classes and non-credit courses. Classes are available on campus and online to meet the various needs of the diverse student population. Whether students are taking classes to advance their professional skills, enrich their personal lives, or develop new interests and abilities, Haywood Community College provides the necessary courses. In addition, the Basic Skills Program at HCC teaches educational and professional skills needed to compete in today's workplace. The program, which includes ABE, GED, AHS, and ESL courses, does not issue grades, impose completion time requirements or charge for registration, books or materials. All students can be assured that they leave Haywood Community College with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in their future endeavors.

  • Haywood Community College participates in the Clean Vehicles for Cleaner Air project and was recently awarded a 2007 Mobile Source Emissions Reduction Grant totaling $9648.75. The award money will be used to purchase a GEM electric vehicle for use at the college as it continues to promote environmental responsibility.
