Heartland
Community College encourages its students to engage in learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom. Dozens of clubs and organizations are available at Heartland -- ranging from Theatre Club to Alpha Beta Gamma to Student Government and many more -- that allow students to develop leadership and collaborative skills while making new friends at the same time. While intramural sports leagues are available for all students to join, the new Heartland Hawk athletic program begins its inaugural year in the fall of 2007. Baseball, softball, men's and women's soccer are the new NJCAA sports teams at Heartland and will promote excellence in the community of intercollegiate athletics.
In order to make the transition into Heartland smooth and successful, the college has developed a program to aid students as they begin their academic journey. Student Orientation Advisement & Registration (SOAR) assists students in their preparation to begin their studies at Heartland. SOAR answers questions and addresses concerns for all of the new, full-time and part-time students as well as for any prospective students looking for general information.
